This massive plane saw her maiden flight on August of 1946 and in June of 1948. They were mostly used for photographic reconnaissance and others were modified to launch and retrieve specially modified RF-84F/K reconnaissance planes. Sadly, only 380 B-36’s were produced and they never saw any action in combat. Even thought she was never used in combat she was a major deterrent to enemy aggression. The last B-36 fight ever was on April 30, 1959 when one was flown to the museum Davis-Monthan Air Force base in Arizona. You can find several B-36’s in museums around the U.S. One is at the Southwest Aerospace Museum in Fort Worth, Texas; another one is at the Strategic Air Command Museum in Ashland, Nebraska and the last museum that has one is the United State Air Force Museum on Wright-Patterson, Ohio. This massive plane stands 46 feet and 9 inches tall and is 162 feet and one inch long. She has a wingspan of 230 feet. Her empty weight is 171,035 pounds and her gross weight is 410,000 pounds. Her range is 6,800 miles with a cruise speed of 391 miles per hour and a max speed of 411 miles per hour.
