Instead of having several different names for their jets, Cessna calls all of their turbofan-powered aircrafts Citation. There is even a military variant of this aircraft called the T-47 and UC-35. One of the Cessna Citation’s is the Citation I, which was originally called the Citation 500 before the company decided to call her Citation I. The first Citation I was one of the very first light corporate jets that was powered by a turbofan engine. However, the production of the Citation I stopped in 1985. There were a total of 377 airframes made for the Citation I by 1985 when production ceased on the aircraft. The Citation required a crew of two like most Learjets, but she could be flown by one crew member the pilot. Cessna then decided to come out with the Citation I/SP, which refers to Single pilot. That aircraft first came about in 1977 and a total of 312 of them were made. The Cessna Citations are 15 feet tall and 47 feet 3 inches long, with a wingspan of 52 feet 3 inches. Her empty weight is 8,062 pounds. Her cruise speed id 464 miles per hour with a range of 2,300 miles at a service ceiling of 43,000 feet.
