Martin Company manufactured the Martin 404, which is an American pressurized passenger airliner. This aircraft was not only used for commercial use, she also saw service with the United States Coast Guard as well as with the United States Navy. Glenn L. Martin Company first started producing the Martin 404 in 1947 and production ended in 1953 with only 103 of the 404’s been built. Eastern Air Lines was the first commercial airliner to receive delivery of the Martin 404 in 1951. Eastern Air Lines got a total of 60 of the airplanes and Trans World Airliner got a total of 40. The United States Coast Guard received delivery of the last two Martin 404’s in 1962. To this date there is only one airworthy Martin 404, which presides at the Plane of Fame Museum. The Martin 404 was 74 feet 7 inches tall and stood 28 feet 5 inches tall, with a wingspan of 93 feet 3 inches. Her empty weight was 29,126 pounds and her gross weight was 44,900 pounds.
