VII airline in the 1920’s The F-VII’s first flight was in 1924 and she was introduced to the world in 1925. Her primary users were SABENA, KLM, Polish Air Force and Polskie Linine Lotnicze LOT. She was produced from 1925-1935. The F-VII’s typically held 8 to 12 passengers and was an aircraft that early airliners used in Europe and in America. This aircraft actually dominated the American market in the late 1920’s. The F-VII were also often used by many explorers and aviation pioneers, such as Amelia Earhart and Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. The F-VII known as the America was the third plane to successfully travel nonstop across the Atlantic, after Lindbergh’s historic trip. The America also holds the honor of being the very first official aircraft to carry airmail across the Atlantic. The F-VII’s were 47 feet 11 inches long and 12 feet 8 inches tall with a wingspan of 71 feet 2 inches. Her empty weight was 6,725 pounds and her loaded weight was 11,570 pounds.
